Invisalign

Invisalign takes a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of aligners created for you and only you. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable and clear BPA-free plastic that you simply wear over your teeth. Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements we plan out for you. Invisalign is an incredibly effective alternative to uncomfortable and unsightly metal braces. You achieve the confident smile that you've always wanted and most people won't even know you're straightening your teeth.

Why Invisalign?

Invisalign is a virtually invisible way to straighten teeth and give you the beautiful smile you have always wanted. Straight, properly aligned teeth not only look great but are easier to keep clean and promote optimum oral health. For some patients, unresolved localized areas of gum inflammation and bone loss due to crowded teeth can be resolved by correcting the position of the teeth.

What does teeth straightening involve?

At your very first appointment Dr. Breault or Dr. Saferin, both Invisalign Preferred Providers, will take impressions of your teeth and photographs of your mouth and smile. These items will be used to create a customized, precise treatment plan and determine the approximate length of treatment. You will return in a few weeks to view a computerized 3-D image of your teeth, the planned movement and your expected results. This is the perfect time to continue to ask any questions you may have.

Based on your individual treatment plan, a series of custom-made, clear aligners is then created specifically for you. Small tooth colored attachments may be placed on your teeth to allow the aligners to quickly and effectively move your teeth into the proper position. You will wear a new set of aligners every two weeks and visit our office roughly every six weeks. These aligners are made of a smooth, comfortable, plastic that won't irritate your cheeks and gums like traditional metal braces often do. Simply wear them throughout the day, and remove them when you eat or to brush and floss your teeth. As you wear each set of aligners, your teeth gently and gradually begin to shift into place. And because they're virtually invisible, most people won't even notice you're wearing them.

What can I expect after Invisalign?

After you have worn your final set of trays the tooth colored attachments will be removed. This is a great time to ask about Zoom! Whitening or other whitening products.

As with all tooth movement (even that done with metal braces), after Invisalign there is a chance your teeth could move back to their original position. It is important that you wear your custom made retainers as directed by your dentist.
