Meet Dr. Alyssa Kievit

Dr. Alyssa Kievit always knew healthcare was in her future plans.

“My mother is a nurse and I was able to see firsthand the impact she made on other’s lives. She is a very compassionate, supportive person, and I really admired that,” she says. “I wanted a career that challenged me every day to use my talents in a positive way.”

That desire to help people and make a difference in their lives led Dr. Kievit to the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine after an undergraduate education at Syracuse University. She graduated from UConn in 2013 and completed her residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

It didn’t take her long to start having that impact on patients’ lives at Cromwell Dental. “Every day, I get to help people in two very rewarding ways,” she says. “Tooth pain can be debilitating and as a dentist I can help to resolve that problem. I also can help my patients finally feel proud of their smile and their appearance. In a short period of time, I can transform a smile from something they’ve been embarrassed about to something they can’t wait to show off. I love that.”

Dr. Kievit also loves transforming her new home in Farmington with her husband, also a dentist. Married in 2015, they spend their spare time renovating their house, discovering new restaurants in the area, and enjoying the outdoors with their rambunctious golden retriever, Lucy.

“I am so happy to have joined the Cromwell Dental team. It’s such a fun, supportive work environment and I think our patients can see that. We all enjoy what we’re doing.”
